Information we collect

We collect information to provide better services to all our players. The information we collect, and how that information is used, depends on how you use our services.

Things you create or provide to us

You can play without an account. If you choose to sign in, we receive information such as your email address or an identifier from the sign-in service you use. We also collect the content you create and provide while using our services, such as your game progress, settings and notes, and the messages you send us.

Information we collect as you use our services

We collect information about your activity in our services, which we use to do things like keep your progress up to date across devices and recommend the next case. The activity information we collect may include:

• cases you start, solve or leave, the moves and hints you use, and the time you spend playing
• coins, hearts, stars, streaks, ranks and other in-game items and achievements
• purchases and subscriptions, such as the product and the date (your payment details are handled by the app store, not by us)
• invitations you send and accept

We also collect information about the devices and apps you use to access our services, which helps us do things like make sure the game works well on your phone. This may include unique identifiers, device type and settings, operating system, app version, language, IP address, crash reports and system activity.

We use various technologies to collect and store information, including local storage on your device.

When you visit our website

Our website sudunnit.com counts visits without cookies and stores nothing on your device. We keep aggregate statistics of which page was viewed, the referring site, the country and the device type, and for example clicks on the download buttons and plays of the daily mini case. Unique visitors are counted with an anonymous identifier that changes every day and can't be linked across days or to you. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, your visit isn't counted.

Why we collect data

We use the information we collect from all our services for the following purposes:

Provide our services

We use your information to deliver our services, like saving your progress, giving you the cases and items you have earned or bought, and sending the reminders you ask for.

Maintain and improve our services

We use your information to make sure our services are working as intended, such as tracking outages or troubleshooting issues that you report to us. And we use your information to make improvements to our services, for example by understanding which cases are too hard or too easy.

Develop new services

We use the information we collect in existing services to help us develop new ones, such as new chapters, features and game modes.

Measure performance

We use data for analytics and measurement to understand how our services are used, for example to analyse how players progress through chapters and to improve the design of our services. We make the game's statistics on our own servers from the game's own data, and the app uses no third-party analytics service.

Communicate with you

We use information we collect, like your email address, to interact with you directly. For example, we may send you a notification about the daily case, let you know about upcoming changes or improvements to our services, or respond when you contact us.

Protect Sudunnit, our players and the public

We use information to help improve the safety and reliability of our services. This includes detecting, preventing and responding to fraud, abuse, cheating, security risks and technical issues that could harm Sudunnit, our players or the public, for example misuse of the invitation rewards or the in-game economy.

We use different technologies to process your information for these purposes, including automated systems that analyse activity to detect abuse. We'll ask for your consent before using your information for a purpose that isn't covered in this privacy policy.

Your privacy controls

You have choices regarding the information we collect and how it's used. In the app, you can turn reminders on or off and sign in or out. You can also delete your data or your whole account at any time, in the app or at sudunnit.com/en/account/delete-data and sudunnit.com/en/account/delete.

Sharing your information

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your personal information with companies, organisations or individuals outside of Sudunnit except in the following cases:

For processing by service providers

We provide personal information to trusted businesses that process it for us, based on our instructions and in compliance with this privacy policy and other appropriate confidentiality and security measures. For example, we use service providers to help operate our servers, sign you in, send emails and handle purchases.

With app stores and sign-in services

When you download the app, make a purchase or sign in with another service, that service handles your information under its own privacy policy.

For legal reasons

We will share personal information if we have a good-faith belief that access, use, preservation or disclosure of the information is reasonably necessary to meet any applicable law, regulation or legal process, enforce our terms, detect or prevent fraud, security or technical issues, or protect against harm to the rights, property or safety of Sudunnit, our players or the public.

We may share non-personally identifiable information publicly and with our partners, for example to show trends about the general use of our services. If Sudunnit is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, we'll continue to ensure the confidentiality of your personal information and give affected players notice before personal information is transferred or becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

Keeping your information secure

We build security into our services to protect your information. We work hard to protect you and Sudunnit from unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure or destruction of information we hold, for example by encrypting data in transit and restricting access to personal information.

Retaining your information

We retain the data we collect for different periods of time depending on what it is, how we use it and how you configure your settings. Some data is kept until you delete it or your account. Other data is kept for longer periods when necessary for legitimate business or legal purposes, such as security, fraud and abuse prevention, or financial record-keeping. When you delete data, we follow a deletion process to make sure that your data is safely and completely removed from our servers or retained only in anonymised form. Information in backups is removed in the normal backup cycle.

European requirements

If European Union data protection law applies to the processing of your information, you have the right to request access to, update, remove and restrict the processing of your information. You also have the right to object to the processing of your information or to export your information to another service. You can exercise these rights through the app, the pages above, or by contacting us at support@sudunnit.com. We may ask you to verify your identity, and we may decline requests that are manifestly unfounded or excessive.

When we're pursuing legitimate interests

We process your information for our legitimate interests and those of third parties while applying appropriate safeguards that protect your privacy. This means that we process your information for things like maintaining, improving and developing our services, understanding how people use our services (including game statistics and website visit statistics), detecting and preventing fraud, abuse and security issues, protecting against harm to Sudunnit, our players or the public, and enforcing legal claims.

When we're providing a service

We process your data to provide a service you've asked for under a contract, such as saving and syncing your progress, delivering the items you buy and providing support.

When we're complying with legal obligations

We'll process your data when we have a legal obligation to do so, for example if we're responding to legal process or keeping accounting records.

With your consent

We ask for your agreement to process your information for specific purposes, such as notifications, and you have the right to withdraw your consent at any time in the app or phone settings.

Your information may be processed on servers located outside the country where you live. When we transfer information outside the European Economic Area, we rely on adequacy decisions of the European Commission or the Commission's standard contractual clauses. Our services are not directed to children under 13. If you have concerns about how we process your information, please contact us. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority, in Finland the Data Protection Ombudsman (tietosuoja.fi).

About this policy

We change this privacy policy from time to time. We always indicate the date the last changes were published, and if changes are significant, we'll provide a more prominent notice, such as a notification in the app.
